Meet The UnCounsellor
Hello.
I'm Satee Hall.
For many years I searched for better ways of understanding what helps people live well.
That search led me through theatre, education, Zen practice, systems thinking, psychology, storytelling, mindfulness, and the science of wellbeing. Along the way I discovered that lasting change rarely begins with giving people better answers. More often, it begins with seeing life differently.
The UnCounsellor grew from that discovery.
Rather than offering ready-made solutions, I create conversations that encourage careful observation, gentle reflection, and a wider perspective on everyday life.
The Fool's Zen
The Fool has been my companion for many years.
Not because the Fool knows everything, but because the Fool is always willing to begin again.
The Fool reminds us that curiosity is often wiser than certainty, kindness stronger than judgement, and simplicity deeper than complexity.
This spirit shapes every conversation we have together.
The Roots of My Work
The UnCounsellor is rooted in several traditions and fields of study that continue to inspire my work:
-
Zen philosophy and mindfulness
-
Ecoliteracy and systems thinking
-
The science of wellbeing
-
Japanese philosophies of everyday living
-
Storytelling and theatre
-
Symbolic reflection and creative dialogue
Rather than following any single method, I bring these influences together in a way that is practical, compassionate, and grounded in everyday experience.
My Background
My work has been shaped by years of learning and practice across education, creativity, and wellbeing, including studies in:
-
The Science of Happiness (Greater Good Science Center, University of California, Berkeley)
-
The Systems View of Life (Fritjof Capra)
-
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
-
Communication Media for Children
-
Theatre, storytelling, and creative education
These experiences continue to inform my work, while every conversation teaches me something new.
An Invitation
Life rarely asks us to become extraordinary.
More often, it asks us to become fully present.
If my work resonates with you, I would be delighted to welcome you for a conversation.
Perhaps, together, we can discover that a beautiful life is often built from very ordinary moments, noticed with extraordinary care.
